Governor Blagojevich signs new law to help deter gun violence and keep firearms out of the hands of minors
Governor Rod R. Blagojevich today signed legislation that will increase sentencing options for criminals who use minors to hold, conceal or utilize firearms to commit crimes. House Bill 4628 increases penalties for a person 18 years of age or older who sells or gives a concealable firearm to a person under 18 years of age (minor) or a minor who does not possess a valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card (FOID).
